Every life is a complicated tapestry, not easily reduced to a single thread. Jeannette’s story focuses on several threads: the Pulse nightclub massacre, Jeannette’s work as a trainer at the gym, competitive bodybuilding, family drama, and the devastation of her native Puerto Rico by Hurricane Maria. Each thread pulls on the others, but the film doesn’t really weave a coherent narrative, and it drags in several parts. Recommended.
