Queer Women of Color

The Queer Women of Color Film Festival (QWOCFF, or QWOCMAP after the organization that puts it on) is celebrating 25 years!

The festival is three days, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, June 13 to 15, 2025, at the theater in the Presidio National Park, not to be confused with the Presidio Movie Theater, a commercial venue on Chestnut & Divisadero. The address for your GPS or rideshare is 99 Moraga Avenue.

Tickets are free (but please give what you can) at QWOCFF.org.

The programs are:

  • Friday 7:00: “Liberatory Black Futures”
  • Friday 10:00: Opening night party at the Presidio Bowl (a block from the theater)
  • Saturday 12:00: Centerpiece Screening: “Think Global, Act Local”
  • Saturday 3:00: Unshakable Legacy Panel: “Nurturing the Next Gen”
  • Saturday 5:00: Featured Screening: “Standing Above the Clouds”
  • Saturday 7:00: Centerpiece Screening: “Queer Mischief”
  • Sunday 12:00: Centerpiece Screening: “Unapologetic Legacies”
  • Sunday 3:00: Featured Screening: Can’t Stop Change
  • Sunday 5:00: Reception, 25th Anniversary
  • Sunday 7:00: Closing Night Screening: “We’re Here, We’re Queer”

All films are open-captioned, with audio description available on request. ASL interpreters will be present at all screenings and the Festival Reception. Every effort is made to accommodate everyone’s needs. Wearing an N-95 or KN-95 mask is required, and you are requested to stay Fragrance Free. Smoking is not permitted within 200 feet of the theater entrance.

Note that the Presidio is a National Park, governed by federal law. That means that possession or consumption of cannabis, including vape pens, is illegal, with no exceptions for medical use, so please do not bring cannabis with you to the park.

There will be an online Encore Screening some time in September, details to be announced; get on the mailing list for the particulars.
