It’s 1990, at a rave outside Paris. Cyril, who turns out to be a highly regarded professional photographer, is taking pictures, and meets up with Samy and Emma. Samy later confesses that he likes guys, too, which Emma finds a turn-on. So begins a love triangle with layers and layers of complication. Cyril is HIV-positive. Samy is healthy but has never been tested.
We flash forward a few years, many people with HIV have died, but a new drug protocol has come out that is more effective with fewer side effects, allowing many to live again, suddenly confronted with the reality that they aren’t going to die soon. Hence live, die, live again.
It’s a compelling story with great acting, camera work, and all the fixings, adding up to a must see.
