About this Index (click to expand)

In the fabulous 50th run of the Frameline San Francisco International LGBTQ+ Film Festival, which returned this year to the newly renovated Castro Theatre, I saw 46 (out of 63) new feature-length films, 49 (out of 58) new short films, 4 (out of 10) retro features, and 29 (out of 33) retro shorts, for a total of 128 (out of 164) films. All of that is on top of the Queer Women of Color Film Festival (QWOCFF), held annually the weekend before Frameline begins. This year featured 1 retro feature-length documentary and 6 shorts programs totalling 33 short films (3 of which I had seen previously). Here they are, sorted by category.

The 🔞 symbol indicates a film or program not suitable for younger audiences; a shorts program is so marked if the substantial majority of its short films are for adults only, but there are a couple of adult shorts that were tucked into programs that mostly do not merit that categorization, so be sure to check the individual listings. “Retro” films dated 2022 or earlier are marked with the year in brackets after the title. Films with foreign-language titles are listed separately by both the original title and the English title, except where they would be listed consecutively. A couple of short films ran in more than one shorts program.
