Michael and Michael Are Gay: “Dinner with Straights” (season 1, episode 1)
Michael and Michael Are Gay:
Dinner with the Straights

Michael and Michael, a married gay couple, are having dinner with some straight friends. We see the conversation as it actually unfolds, and then the twisted bizarro version of events through the Michaels’ eyes, with the straight people asking, saying, and doing astonishingly inappropriate things. Cute but a little clunky. Recommended. This is a web series with 6 episodes so far.

Sweater
Sweater
Corey is having a lousy day, not helped by his new sweater. Then he gets a free cup of coffee and suddenly the world looks different, and it’s time for a musical number! A cute visual amuse-bouche. Recommended. • IMDb

Stepdaddy
Stepdaddy
Wyatt has his former college acquaintance Patricia over for dinner, to tell her some news, but she is too much of a basket case to hear much of anything he has to say. Deftly captures the awkward creepiness of the situation, but with very little humor to leaven it. I won’t spoil the plot twist at the end, but I’ll just say I thought it was not enough. NOT RECOMMENDED. • IMDb

Matt & Dan: Zombie Ex
Matt & Dan: Zombie Ex
You’re foraging for food and medicine in the post-apocalyptic hellscape of the near future, running for your life to escape the zombies. Yet another zombie pops up, but wait … Ethan? Is that you?? I mostly have no use for zombie movies, but this one is campy enough and pokes enough fun at the genre to make it a winner in my book, plus the production values are pretty solid. Highly recommended

Clothes & Blow
Clothes & Blow
First, a clarification that I hope you won’t consider a spoiler: the word “Blow” in the title is a sexual reference, not a drug reference. Daniel is an American living in London, doing voiceover work and hooking up on Grindr, but then his trainwreck of a mother comes for an impromptu visit, causing him to question many aspects of his life. Watching the mother on the screen is almost as insufferable as having her as your actual mother. Not recommended. • IMDb

What is the Sexy?

What is the Sexy?

What is the sexy? Not this video! A few sexy images interspersed with bizarre bits, all weighed down by a thoroughly obnoxious soundtrack. About the best thing that can be said for it is, at a little under 3 minutes, it’s mercifully brief. NOT RECOMMENDED.

Engaged
Engaged
Darren wants to propose to his longtime boyfriend Elliot, but first he has to confront his insecurities, which come to life in a series of over-the-top vignettes. Will Darren finally pop the question? Amusing, recommended.
